The Mandarin Oriental is based in Knightsbridge. It’s a stunning hotel and I must say the spa and fitness facilities were everything I’ve ever dreamed of.
Arriving at the spa, I was welcomed by a very friendly face. The spa felt calm and classy but not stiff. You feel like they want to take care of you. The first part of my morning, I spent in the gym. The gym was really nice. It had plenty of equipment and varity while still being beautifully layed out and overlooking a spectacular pool.
The changing areas were pretty cool. You could not ask for more. A sauna, relaxation capsules and even shaving creams as provided. One of the things I loved was that there is a fridge with cold bottled water but also cold face clothes. It makes such a difference in how you feel when you wipe your face. The gym offers a membership, but only for a select few members. After huffing and puffing with all the weights, I thought it was time to get my tiniest trunks on and get into the pool. Being a sun baby and from South Africa, I’m like a fish in the water so I could’nt be happier. Back in the changing room, I had to get into the relaxation capsules. It was an interesting experience and I can see why people get in them…#Iwantone
Almost running out of time, I just made it back to the spa. I was given some spa sandals and camomile tea. Once I filled out all my paper work, I was shown to the men’s relaxation and changing rooms…..stunning stunning stunning!!
Chanel, my therapist, came to meet me and off to the room we went. She explained how the treatment works. I had to smell 2 different oils and choose the one I liked the best. By doing this, your body tells you what you need. Chanel was amazing and I’ll definitely go and see her again.
Every day should be like today. I left the spa feeling fabulous. I would definitely recommend the experience!
